Fergus Skating Club

Program Assistants are one of the most important parts of a successful CanSkate & KidSkate Program.  The CanSkate Program Assistant (P.A.) should be 12 years old and completed the CanSkate Badge Program and working towards STARSkate tests.  The Program Assistant Helper (P.A.H.) should be 10 years of age and completed the CanSkate Badge Program.  The role of the P.A.is to assist the Professional Coach in delivering the CanSkate Program by demonstrating skills, supervising practice, leading circuits drills and learning activities, handing out awards and much more.

The Fergus Skating Club has two P.A. training clinics per season instructed by Professional Coaches.  There are many benefits from participating in the P.A. Program like learning more about skating & coaching, developing leadership skills, helping the sport grow, recognition from your club & community and developing responsibility. P.A. hours may be used for high school volunteer hours.  Qualified P.A' s may earn Fergus Skating Club "P.A. Bucks".
